Newest Picnik lover

I finally found time to play around with picnik this afternoon. You ladies are so right (why should I be surprised - you ladies always rock!) It is great. I was able to take a useless photo.and turn it into a decent shot.

Does anyone know how I can fix the white in his eyes?

Lets just say Colin wasn't into the sh0ot. This is the best he gave us. I'm pretending he is contemplative in this photo;-)

Okay, here's what you should know about me. I have hardly spent anything on my kids clothing. I either buy used from garage sales or have been blessed from hand me downs. The only thing new my kids have ever gotten are shoes, Sunday dress outfits, and underwear. I seriously think they are confused from the tags on new clothing because they have so seldom seen them.



With that said, I knew I was in trouble when Kurt called me from Old Navy and said "Are you ready for a new wardrobe?" If you know Kurt, these are not words that come out of his mouth.

My Million Dollar Idea

Okay, completely copied from Melissa T but here's something I would pay big bucks for. A machine that would find lost things in my house. For instance, the Grace Fellowship phone directory - always losing that thing. It would work like a GPS and give me directions to locate it within my house - my Mommy brain/kids that like to hide things would really appreciate that!

Also, did anyone else cry at the end of Biggest Loser last night? I was bawling when the had to decide to send home either Jerry or Dan. I think they made the right choice and kudos to Jerry for doing such a great job at home!! I didn't realize Jerry was only 62. My Dad is 58 but seems so much younger than him, I guess the weight really aged him.

Cheapest Disposable Diapers

Hey ladies,

I know some of you are very talented at keeping your families expenses to a bare minimum. For those of you that use disposable or at one time used disposables, what was the calculated cost/diaper for size 5s?

I am currently getting delivered to my doorstep each month of 116 Pampers for $26 (about $.22 a diaper). Not bad, but wandering how much cheaper I could be getting them without having to scrounge for sales. I would rather have the same place each time to get them. I have to admit, with my scatterbrained mind these days, it always a welcome site to see the diapers sitting on my front porch.

We made the jump!

We are the proud new owners of a silver Toyota Sienna. We have been wanting a minivan for awhile but with two paid off and fine functioning cars, we knew it was wise to wait. Thanks to the slumping economy, Toyota offered a new incentive to employees to increase sales and we knew it was the right time to make the jump.

Its weird, I don't feel old enough to own a minivan. Did anyone else feel the same way when they first got one? Regardless, I am thankful for the new means of transportation and have plenty of room for visiting family - a big plus!

Holidays in DC

This past week we went to DC to visit with my brother and sister-in-law, and, of course, to check out some sights. We made it to the Air and Space Museum, the Natural History Museum, and the National Building Museum. Here's a few pictures from the trip!

Santa Claus (aka Papaw) even made a surprise visit to cousin Caroline's - the kids were awestruck!

We loved visiting the National Zoo with temps in the 60s - the orangutans were our favorite since they don't have those at the Cincy zoo. The kids were troopers with all of us being in the same hotel room every night. Most naps looked something like this...

It was a wonderful visit and even better to have everyone together at one time. The only not so pleasant part was the return trip home. About 15 minutes before we landed, the nausea that I had felt off and on throughout the day wasn't going to wait and I ended up filling two bags of the airline barf bags - gross!!! I also ran into someone I knew at the airport and was too out of it to explain why I had vomit on my clothes. It was a humbling way to start the new year. Thankfully, I am feeling better and glad the virus helped me to lose some of the extra weight I had gained from the second (and third) servings of Christmas dressing - yum, yum!
