We made the jump!

We are the proud new owners of a silver Toyota Sienna. We have been wanting a minivan for awhile but with two paid off and fine functioning cars, we knew it was wise to wait. Thanks to the slumping economy, Toyota offered a new incentive to employees to increase sales and we knew it was the right time to make the jump.

Its weird, I don't feel old enough to own a minivan. Did anyone else feel the same way when they first got one? Regardless, I am thankful for the new means of transportation and have plenty of room for visiting family - a big plus!

What do you mean "old enough" If only old people have minivans why do you think I should have one?

I love my minivan Crystal. Just wait until you take a vacation. It's wonderful. Plus I love leaving the strollers in there and still having room to go grocery shopping. We bought a used Town and Country with the plan of keeping it for 5 years and then upgrading. I got over the "I'm old" feeling pretty quickly when I realized how handy it was.

I think I could get used to this minivan thing. I love my power sliding doors! Very handy:-)

I couldn't make the jump. I thought I was ready, but I just couldn't. We were a "one car family" (honda civic) for years, but this fall it was apparent that we needed a second. One test drive later, and I knew that the mini-van idea was off the table. We ended up buying a Honda Pilot. We love it to death. No power sliding doors, but somehow I still feel "cool" all while knowing I'm just a suburban Mom.

That's funny Jill. I have been a Toyota Highlander driver for 6 years now (before we even had kids)! I agree, I love that size SUV. We hope to eventually grow the family so we really didn't have much of a choice. I think Kurt is grieving the loss of his two door Toyota Solara though:-) We put both kids in that a week ago - what a nightmare!!

very nice.
Was Kurt always on board? John swears it will never happen.
I'm curious what the background of this ad is supposed to tell you about yourself as a minivan driver?

Hey Krissy, Kurt had no problems going to the minivan. He had a lot of development and post production responsibility for it so its cool to drive a car that you have worked on forever. I choose the driveshafts and wheel bearing supplier for the vehicle so if anyone has problems with theirs - they can blame me:-)
